First Visit: What to Expect

Welcome!

We understand being a new patient and visiting a clinic for the first time can be full of uncertainty.

That is why we have an informative guide below to describe what a first patient visit and a typical treatment visit looks like.

Before Arrival:

We will email you a few health questionnaire intake forms so that you can complete them in the convenience and comfort of your home. Please fill the forms out to the best of your abilities. These forms will be brought with you to your first appointment so I can review them and better understand you, your health journey, and your goals.

Upon Arrival For All Visits:

Please aim to arrive at least 5 minutes before your scheduled appointment. This will allow us to keep to schedule so that you can get the quality and attentive care you deserve while allowing us to implement safe sanitation protocols between each visit. Once you arrive, please remain outside suite #120. I will meet you at the office entrance to have you fill out a pandemic questionnaire and to check your forehead temperature with a contactless thermometer. If there is no potential risk determined, we can proceed to the treatment room to continue with the scheduled appointment.

Covid - 19 Safety Protocol

You and your family are important to us.
Therefore, we have implemented safety protocols against Covid-19. For the safety of all patients, doctors, and other professionals in the building, we ask that all patients consider wearing a mask to their appointments. Hand sanitizer and isopropyl alcohol will be available. Thorough cleaning of all equipment and contacted surfaces within the clinic will occur between each patient visit. We ask that all patients please show up for appointments as scheduled to allow adequate time to implement all sanitation procedures.

New Patient First Visits:

The first visit will be a 1 hour appointment that will consist of a 30-40 minute personal health history exam, physical examination, and team discussion between you and I to explain your problem and your care plan. Dress comfortably as you will be performing a few movements during the physical examination. As well, please bring any health information that will be important for us to better understand you, such as lab tests, MRIs, X-rays, radiology reports, etc.

Starting off, we will take a health history by reviewing the patient intake forms that you have brought in and I will ask any questions necessary to fill in any blanks in your forms. I will inquire about family history, occupational history, medical history, diet, and goals. Then I will take a thorough look into your current problem and understand the story that brings you into the office. I will ask questions to make sure I have a clear understanding of what you are dealing with so I can better serve you. Once I have a clear understanding of your symptoms, I will conduct a focused physical examination, and obtain health vitals, neurologic test findings, and a few orthopedic test findings related to your symptoms. All this information will help me come to a conclusion for a diagnosis which will allow me to present your best options for care. We will have a discussion so that I can help you understand what the problem is and what I can do for you to help alleviate your symptoms, but most importantly, we will discuss what options you would like to proceed with.

After the 30-40 minute health history and physical examination, we will continue with a 20-30 minute treatment session that is personalized for you. This treatment session will include various therapies that we specialize in.

Follow-Up Treatment Visits:

All follow-up visits will consist of 20-minute treatment sessions that will start off with the same “Upon Arrival For All Visits” instructions described above. Once in the treatment room, we will do a quick review of how you have been doing since your last visit. Then we will continue with your established, personalized care plan, making alterations as we see fit based on your body’s responses to the previous treatment.
